Denver Online High School was recently granted a charter for membership in the National Honor Society. Becoming a member of NHS is a great way to help you get into college and earn scholarships as well as becoming a member of a prestigious and historied organization. If you are a student with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and you are willing to commit to participating in all NHS meetings and service projects, then you should apply to become a member of our chapter. Letters and applications will go out to all GPA eligible students in the coming weeks. Please fill out and return the application if you are interested. NHS honors students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
Based on the NHS constitution, four purposes guide NHS chapters:
- to create enthusiasm for scholarship
- to stimulate a desire to render service
- to promote leadership
- to develop character in the students of secondary schools
These purposes are supposed to be the criteria used for membership selection.
