Congratulations to Sylvie Cubbage for her AEAC Special Talents recognition as a Ballet Dancer.
Sylvie wa born in Kunming, China and was adopted at five months old. Even though she has been raised in the United States, this fact has never stopped her from being true to her culture’s traditional ethics as a person and as a student. Unlike some people who are ashamed of who they are, Sylvie does not feel this way and carries her ethnicity with pride and dignity. She has always felt a strong connection to her biological culture and has felt honored to be a part of it. She represents her community, Denver Online High School and Denver Public schools in a positive way by representing her Asian culture, being the best student and person she can be and contributing in making this world a better place.
The Asian Education Advisory Council (AEAC) of the Denver Public Schools annually hosts the AEAC Awards, an event celebrating the achievements and contributions of DPS Asian-American/Pacific Islander students, as well as the families, faculty, staff, and others who support them.
