What: All 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students have been working hard at Connection Days to organize team service projects. The teams of students will be leading their service projects at Children’s Hospital Colorado on three different days in April and May. Each team has been assigned a day (April 6th, April 20th, or May 12th) in which they will be leading out their events at the hospital. If students volunteer at the hospital that day, they will be excused from their Connection Day. There will be transportation provided. If a student is volunteering that day, they MUST be in good health (e.g. no coughing, runny noses, fevers, etc) or they will not be able to volunteer as the patients at the hospital are incredibly susceptible to getting sick with enormous consequences.
Who: All 9th/10th/11th graders who attend Connection Days have been assigned a day to volunteer at the hospital to lead out their service projects–they should plan on volunteering at the hospital instead of going to their Connection Day.
When: Each team of students has been assigned a day to serve as listed below. Please check with student to see which group the student is in and, therefore, which day they have been assigned to:
- Thursday, April 6th, 9:30am-2pm: The Dad Hats, Badgers Unite!
- Thursday, April 20th, 9:30am-2pm: A Very Good Group Name, That One Group
- Friday, May 12th, 9:30am-2pm: The Foodies, Blankets for Friends
Where: We will meet at Smedley like a normal Connection Day at 9am and then leave shortly after on a bus to head to Children’s Hospital Colorado (13123 E 16th Ave, Aurora, CO 80045). We will be back to Smedley by 2pm.
Wear: All students should wear their Denver Online High School t-shirts. If you do not have one, please see Kaci Sintek to get one.
Required Permission Slip (attached here): Permission slips need to be in to Kaci Sintek (email@example.com) before the field trip. It MUST be hand signed (not a typed signature) using the form provided.
