Parent Thanksgiving: A Night of Building Relationshipsturkey

  • What: Denver Online is hosting a series of parent engagement nights, focusing on a unique new topic at each event.  The workshop series will include topics on building relationships, gaming addiction, mental health, and a night of parents sharing ideas on how to better serve Spanish speaking families.  Our kick-off event will be our Parent Thanksgiving with a focus on relationships.  Come hungry because we will be serving dinner for free, sponsored by Chipotle!  We will also be giving out frozen turkeys for parents to take home to their families!
  • Who: All parents encouraged to come!
  • When: Tuesday, November 14th from 6pm-8pm

Check Your Head and Heart: Understanding Mental Health to Better Support Studentsmental health

  • What: Spend a night with other parents sharing a meal learning about mental health obstacles and how to better work with your student in overcoming challenges.
  • Who: All parents encouraged to come!
  • When: Tuesday, December 5th, 6-8pm
  • Where: Smedley Learning Center

Speak Spanish to Me: An Open Conversation on How Denver Online Can Better Engage Spanish Speaking Familieshola

  • What: Share a meal with other parents while having an open conversation on how we can increase engagement surrounding Spanish speaking families.  This can include anything from how Denver Online communicates, tools the school provides families, resources that would be helpful, specialty events, or anything else!  Share your own feedback and learn from parent representatives from other district schoools on how they are engaging this specific group.  This event will be held in Spanish.
  • Who: Spanish speaking parents highly encouraged to attend, but all parents welcome!
  • When: Wednesday, January 24th, 6-8pm
