FREE April Field Trip: Shakespeare Festival

What: For April’s free field trip, we are heading to the DPS Shakespeare Festival downtown! We will participate in the 3-block parade (dressing up is highly encouraged!) and then have some fun watching outdoor Shakespeare performances performed by DPS students. Students can also sign up to perform at the festival. Find out more details about signing up to perform here: English and drama credit are available for students who attend this field trip, and extra English credit will be given to any student who performs.
Who: All students encouraged to come! We have a limited amount of space available per field trip, so field trips will be on a first come, first served basis in most circumstances. All students must RSVP through the link below to attend. If more students RSVP than field trip space allows, then academic standing will be considered. Those students who are on track in their courses will have precedence to participate over those students who are off track in their courses. Students also must be on time for the field trip or their spot may be given to another student.
When: Friday, April 26th. Students should meet at Smedley at 8:45am to get on the bus shortly after. Students will be back to Smedley around 1:45pm.
Where: Meet at Smedley to get on the bus. We will then be heading to be dropped off at Skyline Park (1601 Arapahoe Street, Denver, CO 80202). Students will then be walking in the 3-block parade to Denver Performing Arts Complex (1101 13th St., Denver, CO 80204).
Required Permission Slip: See attached.  Permission slip must be returned to Kaci Sintek ( in the main office before getting on the bus.
