Unfortunately, public schools in Colorado are only able to enroll students prior to them turning 21 and students have to graduate during the semester that they turn 21. Students who are over 21 years old must complete their education through an adult education program. Since we have multiple individuals who have contacted our school who are over 21 years old, we did some research to better help you find some options! The Colorado Department of Education has an interactive map that shows all of the programs that offer these types of services to young adults. Our suggestion would be to start by calling the one that is closest to your home. Here are some to get started!
CCD Foundational Skills Institute - 303-352-6805 - This looks to be a collaboration between the Community College of Denver and The Denver Housing Authority. The CCD Foundational Skills Institute (FSI) provides accelerated programs for students to achieve their education goals, obtain CCD certificates, and get workplace skills training to qualify for in-demand jobs. FSI helps students improve English language skills, complete their education with a GED® or HiSet®, and transition to college courses.
Emily Griffith Technical College - 720-423-4700 - The Emily Griffith Technical College offers GED courses at a really reasonable rate ($99 for six weeks of classes that are scheduled during the day, weekends or evenings).
Community College of Aurora - 303-340-7040 – This is a GED prep program through Community College of Aurora is very similar to what Emily Griffith offers.
