DPS Schools Closed Tuesday, April 9, 2013

Based on the current forecast of icy and snowy conditions, very heavy winds, low visibility, and hazardous road conditions, all Denver Public Schools and DPS offices will be closed on Tuesday, April 9, 2013. The storm is expected to start in the early morning hours and last throughout the entire day and into Tuesday evening.

The primary consideration in making these decisions is, of course, for the safety of our students and staff. We make every effort to keep our schools open, with closure decisions being made only when weather and travel conditions are very hazardous for our families, staff, and school buses. The combination of the severe-weather conditions in the forecast for all day on Tuesday is expected to make travel conditions dangerous, especially in the morning.

Again, all DPS schools and office buildings will be closed on Tuesday, April 9. All athletics and after-school activities are also cancelled.
