College Courses

Concurrent Enrollment

College ready Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors may take courses at area post-secondary state institutions and apply credit earned toward high school graduation as well as receive college credit.

Concurrent Enrollment means students are enrolled in high school AND college earning high school AND college credit at the same time. Denver Online High School and Denver Public Schools pay for the tuition, parents and students pay for student fees, textbooks and other related fees.

Types of Concurrent Enrollment Courses offered:

  • English
  • Upper level and College Math
  • Social Studies
  • Foreign Languages
  • Electives
  • Other, first year, prerequisites and general education coursework

Concurrent Enrollment coursework is offered through most state community colleges including:

The ASCENT program gives students an opportunity to attend college, full time, during their 5th year. Students must submit an Intent to Participate application to their counselor during registration of their senior year. Students must have a Personal Education Plan and have completed 12 college credit hours by the end of their senior year. Approved students can remain enrolled in high school their 5th year, but attend full time at the college.
