Summer School

Summer School General Information

Current full-time Denver Online High School (DOHS) students are allowed to take courses at no charge as part of their continued enrollment. Supplemental students must pay a tuition fee of $100 per course per semester for currently enrolled DPS students and $150 for out of district students. Students who do not pay may not have access to the class or receive credit. Denver Online High School has only ONE session from June 10th – August 16th. All classes will be taken simultaneously during this time span. One semester course is equal to 5 credits (.5). To promote successful course completion, DOHS recommends no more than 1 full course or 2 semester courses. Successfully completing a full credit course in the 9-10 weeks of summer will require a time commitment of approximately 4 hours a day for 5 days a week.

Tuition must be paid in full before registration is complete. Tuition fees can be paid by the school, by the student, or by a third party organization sponsoring the enrollment using our online PayPal account or checks made payable to “Denver Online High School” mailed to:

Students will need access to a computer with high-speed internet from home, personal storage space on a hard drive or jump drive, and the ability to install any required software.

Many factors affect a student’s success in the program including attendance, degree to which the student already meets grade level standards, and fidelity to program implementation. Every effort is made to provide a quality experience for students from low student-teacher ratios to on-site Instructional Support. Students taking a math class may be required to meet in person with their teacher up to 3 days a week online or onsite.

It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to provide a current copy of the child’s IEP or 504 plan (if applicable) at the time of registration in order to ensure Special Education services as in the regular school year.

Registration Process

  1. Fill out the interest form.
  2. Once the fees are paid, the student is enrolled into their online course(s).

IMPORTANT DATES

May 1st – Beginning of registration for DOHS Summer School Classes

June 10th – Start of Summer School, students must begin logging in and accessing class daily. Students who have not accessed by June 4th will be dropped.

June 10th – All Payments Due – Students must have paid all course fees in order to access the class or they will be dropped. Last day to register for DOHS summer school.

August 16th – Last Day of Summer School – all courses must be completed.
