As you probably heard last week, Denver Public Schools has delayed the return to in-person learning for secondary schools until at least November 9, 2020. While schools will not be able to return fully in-person until after then, the District has approved the administration of the SAT and PSAT make-up (from Spring) tests for next week (10/27-SAT and 10/29-PSAT) and we have already been working with our 11th and 12th graders to ensure they are able to take these important tests.
In order to ensure our staff and students are able to return to the building for testing next week and for small, optional learning center opportunities after November 9, our team has been busy developing our Returning to the Blended Environment Plan that is based on the DPS Return to School Plan (https://www.dpsk12.org/coronavirus/return-2020/).
On Monday, October 26, from 6:00-7:00 p.m., I will be hosting a Zoom meeting to review the specifics around the Denver Online plan to re-open our building for students and staff who would like the option of some in-person learning. This plan will also be the guidance we will follow during testing next week. During our time together, I will present our plan and answer any questions that families might have. It will likely not take the entire hour, but I am setting aside the time to ensure I am responsive to the needs, concerns and questions that our families may have. I will also record a clean presentation for those who cannot attend and will hold another session as we get closer to November 9.
If you are interested in the information surrounding how Denver Online will open its doors for some optional in-person learning opportunities and testing, please feel free to join me on Monday evening here at this link! Thanks so much for your support!
