Maddie Perun grew up in Houston, Texas, and moved to Colorado with her family during high school. She fell in love with Colorado and decided to stay in-state for college. She received her bachelor of science in Chemical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. During her first years in college, Maddie was an undergraduate teaching assistant for chemistry labs. She fell in love with teaching and hasn’t stopped teaching since! She completed a fellowship program at Generation Teach during the pandemic, fell in love with online teaching, and then came to Denver Online!
Maddie loves to inspire others to love STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) just as much as she does. In her free time, she enjoys a variety of different video games. She plays mostly PC games, but she also is a Nintendo lover too. Her favorite activity is re-watching Star Trek shows with her spouse! Among some of her other loves are her spouse (of course), music, mindfulness, and her pets. Her pets might make guest appearances during meetings. Sometimes, it seems as if her cat loves to teach just as much as she does!
