Dear Denver Online parent/guardian,
There are just a few days left before Denver Online students and staff go on Fall Break! Denver Public Schools are closed Nov. 20- 24. Students who have fallen behind in their courses have a great opportunity to catch up and raise their grades over Fall Break. No additional work will be assigned over the break. Schoology courses will be open throughout the break and students are encouraged to submit overdue work or revise and resubmit assignments for a higher grade in all courses.
All students who are currently failing at least one class will complete a Fall Break Planner with their Advisement teacher by Nov. 17 to help guide them in the most efficient plan for catching up. You and your student should use this plan to guide their work over the break. You and your student can access the planner in Week 13 of your student’s Advisement course in Schoology.
We encourage you to regularly check your student’s grades using your Schoology parent account.
If your student has questions or needs help, please make sure your student asks their teachers for help before Friday, Nov. 17. Students can contact their teacher by sending an email or Schoology message, signing up for one-on-one tutoring time, or by joining afternoon Guided Work Time. Teachers will not be available to support students over the break.
Once students return from break, there are only two weeks remaining for students to raise their grades in first semester courses. The deadline to submit coursework for the first semester is Monday, December 12 at midnight. No extensions will be provided and no work will be accepted after this date.
Thank you for your collaboration in support of your student!
