Dear Families,
Our school has been identified for support and improvement under the federal statute, the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), as a Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CS) school – Low Graduation (on watch). This identification means that we need to increase the percentage of students that graduate. “On watch” means that we have met the criteria to exit the CS – lowest 5% identification, however our school needs to maintain this improvement for a total of three years before we can be fully exited from the identification.
As a result of being identified under ESSA, Denver Online is eligible for funding to help support our efforts in meeting the above goal. We have developed an improvement plan, in partnership with stakeholders, to address the reasons that have led to Denver Online being identified. If you have questions about our school’s improvement plan (UIP), please contact the school administration and consider attending an upcoming School Accountability Committee (usually called Collaborative School Committee) meeting.
If you have any questions about our overall school performance rating or how you can get involved in our improvement efforts, please contact me.
Sincerely,
Ian Jones
Principal at Denver Online Middle School/High School
