Jennifer Thornton grew up in rural North Carolina where both of her grandparents owned tobacco farms. She attended North Carolina A&T State University and received a B.S. in Biology. She began studying to become a Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine but decided that was not the path for her. Instead, she decided to follow in her father’s footsteps and become a teacher. Jennifer has been a teacher since 2003 when she moved to sunny South Florida and has experience in all aspects of teaching. She has taught middle and elementary level students as a STEM teacher and has even been in a teacher leadership role as an Instructional Coach. Jennifer also teaches coding part time to young students online. She enjoys sharing her love of Science and Technology with students and has always focused on teaching in diverse populations. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, all things technology related, fishing and just being outside in the sun. Growing up in the country, Jennifer’s claim to fame is that she can drive just about anything. Jennifer was excited to bring some southern hospitality to Denver Online as she continues to serve all students a deserving high quality education.
