Hello Denver Online MIddle School Students and Families!
CMAS testing is an important way for students to demonstrate the learning they have mastered over the school year. The test results also impact Denver Online’s rating on the Colorado School Performance Framework (SPF).
The CMAS tests will take place during the month of April this year and all testing must be done in person at the Smedley Campus. Students will test for several days over a three week period. Specific details will be sent over the next few weeks.
As we are finalizing our plans for this important test, we need to know how many students to expect during our testing window. Our hope is that all students will participate in testing this year as the data is valuable for our team’s instructional planning.
We know many families are unable to bring their students into the building at this time and/or they do not wish to participate in the testing.
Students: If you know that you will not be testing, please encourage your parents to follow the directions below to opt you out of the testing.
Parents: If your student IS NOT planning to test (for whatever reason), we are requesting that you please take the time to opt out of the testing for this year. You can opt out via the Parent Portal. Here is a link to Opt Out Directions. Students who opt out of testing will not count against the school’s rating.
Students who DO NOT opt out of testing, but do not participate, will be counted against the school on the Colorado School Performance Framework (SPF).
If you are having difficulties completing the opt-out form in the Parent Portal, you can opt out using one of these forms: English-Opt Out Form or Espanol-Opt Out Form. Make a copy of the form, and email the completed form to Rhonda Robbins (rhonda_robbins@dpsk12.net) with the subject line “Opt Out”, and we will take steps to complete the opt out process for you.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Rhonda Robbins.
Thank you for your time and consideration!
