Bruce MacIntosh graduated from the University of Colorado with a BA in History and earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Denver. His teaching career has been diverse, ranging from teaching 6th grade to high school students, as well as many years of instructing adults in real estate education for obtaining their broker’s license. This has included both classroom settings and online/asynchronous teaching. While Bruce enjoys engaging with all middle and high school students, he finds the energy and enthusiasm of younger students particularly rewarding.
Currently, Bruce focuses on Media Arts, teaching Design and Digital Media to high school students, and Computer Technology to 6th graders. His goal is to equip his students with essential tech skills they will use in their adult lives. Growing up in Boulder, Colorado, during the 70s and 80s greatly influenced his teaching philosophy, inspiring him to offer his students as much freedom of expression and choice as possible in their assignments.
Bruce’s passion for education is further fueled by personal experiences. His daughter graduated from Denver Online, and her wonderful educational experience motivated him to join the Denver Online community as a teacher. Outside of the classroom, Bruce is a “collector,” particularly enjoying colorful items such as comic books, Deco tube radios, and baseball and Pokemon cards.
Traveling is one of Bruce’s favorite pastimes, especially exploring new places. One of his most memorable experiences was spending six weeks in Rome a few years ago. He also enjoys visiting smaller U.S. cities to watch their minor league baseball teams play, adding an element of fun and adventure to his travels.
