Mrs. Jessica Zarate has taught grades 6-12 English in both Texas and Colorado. JZ attended the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in English Language Arts, Literature, and Reading. She currently holds Secondary English and ESL certifications. JZ loves teaching at Denver Online because the people (staff and students) make it a genuinely enjoyable and supportive place to be. She loves helping students find something to appreciate about reading and/or writing. When she’s not nerding-out about English, JZ enjoys watching movies and being outdoors with her daughter, husband, and two dogs.
