Marisa earned her BA in Art Education from Colorado State University and a MA in Multicultural and Bilingual Education from the Universidad de Alcala in Madrid. She has taught preschoolers to adults and every level of art but especially enjoys the fresh perspectives and humor of middle schoolers. For her own art, she concentrates on drawing and painting, but she loves learning about all the latest technological innovations to teach digital media and photography. She feels the best part about teaching art is helping grow and witness the creativity of her students! Marisa moved to Colorado in high school and now has a teenage son and daughter attending DPS schools. On the weekends, she enjoys spending time outside in our beautiful state: walking her dog, gardening, hiking, paddle boarding, and camping. During school breaks, she and her family travel as much as possible. She loves exploring new places and cultures to find inspiration for art lessons!
