Toby Carlson grew up in a small town in Iowa before attending Grinnell College, where he studied both Sociology and Mathematics. After graduating, he began his teaching career at a boarding school outside of Santa Barbara. He later moved to Phoenix, AZ, and eventually joined Denver Public Schools in 2013. While in Denver, Toby earned a Master’s Degree from CSU-Global and began teaching concurrent enrollment courses through CCD. His passion for teaching is rooted in supporting students as they build self-confidence in both math and problem-solving skills. Outside of school, Toby enjoys spending time with his wife and two boys, exploring national parks, building Legos, playing basketball, and going on bike rides.
