Denver Public Schools’ Premier Online Middle School and High School
Hello from Denver Online!
Have you chosen your school for next year and submitted a School Choice application yet? We’d love for you to consider Denver Online for your 24-25 schooling choice!
Denver Online offers flexible virtual education for 6th-12th grades!
Below are a few highlights about our school, but we encourage you to check out the rest of our website to learn more detailed informaiton!
- Flexible virtual courses completed from the comfort of your home or anywhere that internet is available.
- Our learning model incorporates asynchronous coursework, optional synchronous live learning sessions on Zoom, and optional in-person Connection Days. Courses are asynchronous and can be completed on your own time. However, assignments have deadlines to keep students on-track. We also have optional synchronous live class sessions on Zoom for each course to support student learning. While we greatly encourage all students to participate in these live class sessions, students are not required to attend these sessions. In addition, we offer in-person Connection Days where students can come into our school building for additional academic support, social opportunities, and other learning opportunities, like science experiments and dance classes!
- Attendance is directly attached to students turning in coursework. To receive full attendance points for a day, a student must turn in all of the assignments due in their courses that day. Students can always work ahead and turn assignments in early. They can also turn in assignments after their due date for full credit, however, their attendance points would be impacted from missing the coursework deadlines.
- Tuition-free COLLEGE COURSESavailable for high school students. Students can go in-person to the college or take the courses online. Students will receive both college credit and high school credit for each college course passed, and we pay the tuition for those courses.
- Lots of in-person community building activities to participate in! We have field trips, clubs, a back-to-school BBQ, prom, holiday parties, and more!
- Students can still participate in SPORTS at another DPS school!
- Award winning staff who are the best at what they do… but don’t take our word for it! Check out the hundreds of testimonials submitted by parents and students. You can also see what students and parents have said about us on Niche!
How to Enroll at Denver Online for next school year
- Fill out a Choice Application HERE and rank Denver Online as your first choice. School placements will be announced in late March.
- Students wishing to come to Denver Online for the 24-25 school year should participate in Round 1 of SchoolChoice.
Students with IEPs or 504 Plans
We welcome students with IEPs and 504 plans to Choice into Denver Online! However, please see the notes below about the Special Evaluation that must be completed prior to fully enrolling at Denver Online.
- Every student with an IEP or 504 plan must have a special evaluation prior to being officially enrolled at Denver Online. This is to ensure that FAPE (Free Appropriate Public Education) can be met in a fully virtual environment. The special evaluation in most cases will be completed by the sending school (the school the student is currently attending).
- Should you have questions about this specific process, please reach out to Mary Beth Carlson who oversees the Special Evaluation process: mcarls3@dpsk12.net
- Students with IEPs or 504s that would like to enroll with Denver Online are heavily encouraged to participate in ROUND 1 of School Choice happening right now instead of waiting until Round 2. This is to ensure that the student can start on time in August. The special evaluation process oftentimes takes multiple weeks to be fully complete.
