Enroll at Denver Online
Students must maintain Colorado residency and be under 21 years old at the start of the school year to register with Denver Online.
Enrollment is CLOSED for 2nd Semester
Denver Online is over-enrolled, so we are completely full for 2nd semester. We will not be accepting any more students for the 24/25 school year.
Enrollment for the 25-26 School Year
Denver Online participates in the DPS School Choice Process.
Round 2 of School Choice is now open and runs through August 29th
- Enrollment during Round 2 runs on a first-come, first-served basis for Denver Online. So the earlier you apply the better to reserve your seat!
IMPORTANT THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE ENROLLING AT DENVER ONLINE:
- Denver Online DOES NOT offer credit recovery. However, there are some really wonderful other schools that do! If a student is behind a semester or more in credit, a student may not be able to get caught up in credits at Denver Online in order to graduate on time. However, if a student is okay with staying an extra semester+ with Denver Online, then our school still could be a great fit for the student! If a family decides that they want an option that allows the student to earn credit more quickly, please find more information about credit recovery options here.
- We take truancy seriously. A student’s attendance is based on them turning in daily assigned school work. Learn more about our attendance practices here.
- While online school offers flexibility, online education is definitely not necessarily easier than attending a traditional brick-and-mortar school. Students should plan to spend at least 5 hours completing schoolwork Mon-Fri.
- Students must have good time management skills. A Middle School student should have an adult available at home with them to support them with their learning and staying on track.
- All of our courses are taught in English.

PLEASE NOTE: If a currently active DPS student has an IEP or 504 Plan, a Special Evaluation (IEP) / Supplementary Evaluation (504 Plan) must be completed by the sending school to ensure FAPE can be provided in a 100% virtual setting.
COST
- Full-Time: Tuition Free
- Students whose primary school is Denver Online will be enrolled as full-time students with tuition being free.
- Full-time high school students also have access to tuition-free college courses as well.
- Supplemental: $300/course/semester
- Students taking 1 course to half of their course load at Denver Online while attending another DPS school for the rest of their courses are considered Supplemental Students at Denver Online.
- Supplemental Courses taken at Denver Online will be paid by the student’s primary DPS school
- Only students enrolled in another DPS school are eligible to take Supplemental Courses with Denver Online
Launch Events at Denver Online for 25-26 School Year
Upon enrollment at Denver Online, all students and their parent/guardian will receive an email outlining all of the dates, forms, and necessary links needed to complete all steps of the launch process below.
- COMPLETE ONLINE REGISTRATION
- All parents/guardians should complete online registration once at the beginning of the school year. This process is DIFFERENT than the Choice application, although it may feel similar.
- COMPLETE STUDENT HEALTH REQUIREMENTS
- PICK-UP STUDENT CHROMEBOOK
- Each Denver Public Schools’ student is able to loan a chromebook to use for schoolwork.
- NOTE: You will NOT be able to pick up a Chromebook until you have been accepted at Denver Online and have all of the proper documents turned in.
- COURSE SCHEDULE CREATION
- Advisors will create course schedules for students based on what credits the student needs.

- ONE-ON-ONE VIRTUAL WELCOME MEETINGS WITH ADVISEMENT TEACHER
- Families will sign up for a time to meet with their Advisement Teacher, either in-person or virtually. These meetings will ensure both the student and guardian are equipped to have a great start to the semester!
